About EGYM

EGYM is a global fitness technology company that creates smart gym equipment and connected digital apps to provide personalised, data-driven workout experiences.

Situation

EGYM launches white-labelled apps for gym operators, so each gym's app carries its own branding. Customer Success Managers collected logos, brand rules and layout preferences by email and forms. Files went missing or arrived in the wrong format, launches dragged on, and brand colours were often too low in contrast to meet accessibility standards, so internal teams had to fix them by hand.

Task

I came up with the idea and pitched it to the Product Owner. As the only designer on the project, I designed a self-serve, no-code tool where gym operators could set up, preview and launch their own app without back-and-forth emails.

Action

Research first

I interviewed two Customer Success Managers and eight gym operators to identify the main bottlenecks. The main needs were a live preview, control of branding and imagery, guidance on layout, and a quicker process.

Testing in different languages

I added multi-language previews, surfacing layout and functionality issues across locales before they reached production.

A live preview instead of static forms

I replaced file-upload forms with an interactive builder, so clients could see their app change as they made choices.

Ready-made layouts. I created curated templates for different gym business models. They gave clients a good starting point and protected key navigation patterns from being broken.

Accessibility guardrails

I added automatic contrast checks that show the minimum ratio needed, so clients could pick accessible colours without knowing the rules. This reduced implementation effort by 12–20% per gym onboarding and removed the validation bottleneck for new brand colour approvals.

Post-Launch: visual and technical settings separation

I separated the visual choices (logos, colours, images) from technical settings into two forms. People no longer got stuck on a technical field while they were still enjoying the creative part, and this cut completion time by 28%.

Result and impact

A cohesive no-code tool that automates the process of collecting all the necessary assets for the successful app launch.

65% Reduction in Launch Time: Accelerated the end-to-end client onboarding timeline significantly.

35% Lower Implementation Costs: Reduced manual overhead for internal Customer Success and Operations teams.

2-Month Delivery: Designed, validated and shipped the full web platform in just 8 weeks.
