About EGYM
EGYM is a global fitness technology company that creates smart gym equipment and connected digital apps to provide personalised, data-driven workout experiences.
Situation
EGYM's old Netpulse app was fragmented and out of date, with no personalisation, no visual content and no clear starting point. It was also a white-labelled platform, and gym operators wanted lots of custom branding while members simply wanted a clear, distraction-free app to track workouts.
Task
As Product Designer in a team of three, I created a modern, unified mobile app to replace an outdated solution, working for both gyms and members as EGYM expanded globally.
Action
Understanding what was wrong
B2B vs. B2C alignment: B2B gym operators wanted extensive custom branding, while end-users simply wanted a clear, distraction-free app to track their workouts.
Legacy UX debt. We listed the problems with the old app, based on gyms’ and users’ feedback and UX review.

No personalisation
Lacks the motivating
No visual content
Low branding opportunities
Looks outdated
Not clear where to start
Balancing branding with usability
I created a flexible layout system with dedicated "brand zones", where gyms could promote local classes and offers. Because the zones were separate, branding never disturbed the main navigation.

- Home screen logo branding
- Custom widgets

Reworking navigation
We restructured the main navigation around the actions members use most, giving quicker access (often one tap), a clearer visual order and an easier layout to scan between sets.

Result
A white-label fitness app flexible enough to serve independent gyms and large chains alike.

Impact
The new app replaced the legacy platform and rolled out across 33,000+ fitness locations
The redesign supported growth from 4M to 6M+ users and a 22% drop in member cancellations
The system supported 700+ published white-label apps across the global gym network.
